India’s young boxers delivered impressive performances at the World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 in Bangkok, with Chandrika, Gunjan, Joyshree Devi and Ambekar Meetei advancing to the finals.

Chandrika defeated Morocco’s Rihab Hamdoune by referee stoppage in the 51kg semifinal, while Gunjan secured a 5-0 unanimous decision over North Korea’s Yu Gyong Kim in the 48kg category. Joyshree Devi dominated Mexico’s Sofia Ramirez with a first-round stoppage in the 54kg division.

In the men’s 50kg category, Ambekar Meetei earned a 5-0 win over Uzbekistan’s Abdugani Yorkinjonov to book his place in the final.
