Rain Washes Out 5th T20I as India and West Indies Share Series 2-2

Rain Washes Out India vs West Indies 5th T20I in Bengaluru

Persistent rain forced the abandonment of the fifth and final T20I between India and West Indies at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, leaving the five-match series tied 2-2.

India were 118/5 in 7.4 overs when the match was called off at 10:16 pm. With insufficient time for a five-over chase, West Indies missed their opportunity to secure their first series win in India since 2002. After hours of drizzle delayed the toss, the match was reduced to nine overs per side and began at 9:15 pm.

India’s innings featured explosive hitting from Ishan Kishan, who smashed 30 off 10 balls, and Naman Dhir, who remained unbeaten on 24 off just six deliveries. Sanju Samson scored 16, while Shreyas Iyer contributed 22. West Indies bowlers Shamar Springer and Keemo Paul claimed two wickets each.

The washout also marked a disappointing return to international cricket at the Bengaluru venue after a two-year wait. India had included Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who returned after 1,437 days, while Shivam Dube replaced Mayank Yadav.
