India beat Canada 4-1 to open Thomas Cup campaign on winning note

India began their Thomas Cup campaign with a 4-1 win over Canada in Horsens, Denmark. India suffered an early setback as Lakshya Sen lost to Victor Lai in three games.

However, the doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty restored parity with a straight-game win. Ayush Shetty then defeated Brian Yang to put India ahead before Hariharan Amsakarunan and M. R. Arjun secured the tie. Kidambi Srikanth sealed the 4-1 triumph.

The Indian men’s team next plays Australia on April 27. Meanwhile, the women’s team is currently in action against Denmark.
