India Crash Out of Hockey World Cup 2026 After 3-5 Defeat to Argentina

India’s men’s hockey team crashed out of the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 after suffering a 3-5 defeat to former Olympic champions Argentina in their Pool E Stage 2 match in Amstelveen on Monday.

India needed a four-goal victory to keep their semi-final hopes alive after losing 1-3 to hosts Netherlands in their previous match. However, Argentina proved too strong, securing a two-goal victory and leaving India without a point in Stage 2. The 2016 Olympic champions, who had earlier defeated England 3-1, moved to six points and now share the top spot with the Netherlands.

The Netherlands and Argentina will battle for the semi-final spots, with their remaining results deciding the final standings. India’s campaign has therefore come to an end.
