India defeated West Indies by 14 runs in the third T20I at the Holkar Stadium on Sunday to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
Defending 223, India restricted the visitors to 209/7, with Arshdeep Singh claiming three wickets and Naman Dhir taking two. Abhishek Sharma set up India’s total with a blistering 69 off 30 balls, but a middle-order slowdown prevented the hosts from pushing beyond 223.
West Indies made a strong start, reaching 54/1 in the Powerplay despite losing opener Shai Hope for one to Arshdeep. Shimron Hetmyer struck 43 before Naman Dhir dismissed him with a slower delivery. Dhir also removed Nicholas Pooran, who scored 42 and threatened to turn the chase around with three sixes.
Arshdeep then struck twice in the 18th over, dismissing Keemo Paul and Sherfane Rutherford to leave West Indies with too much to do. Shamar Springer’s unbeaten 35 off just 11 balls provided late fireworks but could not prevent defeat.
