India Wins 10 Medals at Asia Cup Archery 2026 Stage I, Uday Kamboj Leads Historic Show

The Archery Association of India (AAI) proudly announces an outstanding performance by Indian archers at the Asia Cup Stage I 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the contingent securing 10 medals.

Leading the charge was Uday Kamboj, who clinched gold in the Compound Men’s Individual event, headlining a historic all-India podium sweep in the category. India also celebrated gold in the Compound Mixed Team event through the formidable pairing of Rajat Chauhan and Chikitha Taniparthi, showcasing strong team synergy and consistency.

Rajat Chauhan and Prathamesh Samadhan Jawkar further reinforced India’s dominance by securing bronze and silver respectively in the same event—marking a significant milestone for Indian compound archery on the continental stage.

Commenting on the performance, Shri Arjun Munda, President, Archery Association of India said: “This has been a phenomenal outing for Indian archery. The all-India podium in the Compound Men’s Individual event is a rare and proud achievement, reflecting the depth of talent and high-performance ecosystem we are building.”

Shri Virendra Sachdeva, Secretary General, Archery Association of India added: “Our archers have delivered exceptional performances under pressure, and this is truly a proud moment for Indian archery. The team has showcased remarkable skill, composure, and consistency on the continental stage. At AAI, we remain deeply committed to strengthening the high-performance pathway, providing our athletes with the best training, exposure, and support to consistently excel at the highest level.”

This strong showing underscores India’s growing stature in international archery, with both experienced campaigners and emerging athletes delivering under pressure.
