Global Chess League Season 4 to be held in India
The Global Chess League and FIDE have announced that Season 4 of the league will be hosted in India, with the host city to be revealed soon.
The previous season, held in Mumbai in December 2025, was won by Alpine SG Pipers. Since its launch, the GCL has introduced a fast-paced franchise-based format featuring rapid matches and mixed-gender teams, aiming to make chess more spectator-friendly.
Commissioner Gourav Rakshit said India’s growing chess culture and fan enthusiasm make it the perfect venue for another thrilling season.
