FIFA World Cup 2026: Lionel Messi Extends World Cup Record In Argentina’s 3-1 Victory Over Jordan

Argentina finished the FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage unbeaten with a 3-1 victory over Jordan at Dallas Stadium. Giovani Lo Celso opened the scoring before Lautaro Martínez doubled the lead from the penalty spot.

Jordan pulled one back, but Lionel Messi, introduced as a second-half substitute, sealed the win with a superb free-kick. The goal was Messi’s sixth of the tournament and extended his record to 19 World Cup goals while becoming the first player to score in seven consecutive World Cup matches.

Argentina topped their group after another dominant display under Lionel Scaloni.
