Bethell Spins England to Series Sweep Over Sri Lanka Ahead of T20 World Cup
Jacob Bethell underlined his growing value to England’s T20 World Cup plans with a decisive spell in a 12-run win over Sri Lanka, sealing a 3-0 series sweep in Pallekele.
Defending 128, England relied heavily on spin as Bethell claimed career-best figures of 4/11, including three wickets in a dramatic 18th over. Will Jacks picked up three scalps, while Sam Curran rescued England earlier with a career-best 58.
Despite Dushmantha Chameera’s maiden T20I five-for, Sri Lanka fell short, exposing ongoing struggles against spin ahead of the World Cup.
