Ellyse Perry Stars as Australia Beat England in Women's T20 World Cup Warm-Up
Australia began their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign preparations with a confident five-wicket victory over hosts England in a warm-up match.
Chasing 158, Australia reached the target with 10 balls remaining, powered by a superb 64 from veteran all-rounder Ellyse Perry and a quick-fire 43 from Beth Mooney. Earlier, England recovered from a shaky start to post 157/6, thanks to valuable contributions from Alice Capsey (45) and Freya Kemp (41). Australia’s bowlers kept the pressure on throughout, with Alana King and Megan Schutt claiming two wickets each.
The six-time champions looked in complete control during the chase, sending a strong message ahead of their opening World Cup fixture against South Africa.
