Devika Sihag Creates History at Thailand Masters

Young Indian badminton player Devika Sihag etched her name in history by winning the women’s singles title at the Thailand Masters Super 300 on Sunday.

The 20-year-old from Haryana became only the third Indian, after PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal, to claim a Super 300 crown. Devika was declared the winner after Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei retired hurt in the final, with the Indian leading 21-8, 6-3. Unbeaten throughout the tournament, Devika defeated higher-ranked opponents, including top seed Supanida Katethong, showcasing composure and maturity.

The breakthrough triumph marks a major milestone in her rapidly rising career.
