David Warner to accept responsibility in drink-driving case

Former Australia opener David Warner has been charged with drink-driving after being stopped by police in Sydney over the weekend.

Reports state that Warner, 39, was pulled over after parking short of a random breath-testing site, where he allegedly returned a positive result. He was later taken to a police station and charged with a mid-range offence. Warner is scheduled to appear in court on May 7. Police did not officially name him, but multiple reports confirmed his identity.

The veteran cricketer retired from international cricket in 2024 but continues to feature in franchise T20 leagues, most recently representing Karachi Kings in the PSL.
