West Indies head coach Daren Sammy expressed disappointment after his team’s 2-1 ODI series loss to Bangladesh, admitting they underperformed in all departments despite standout individual efforts.

Bangladesh’s spinners dominated, taking 27 wickets at 14.66, compared to the West Indies’ 18 at 30.05. Sammy praised Captain Shai Hope’s consistency but criticised his bowlers for failing to exploit spin-friendly conditions. He also lamented sloppy fielding, noting six dropped catches.

However, he lauded Akeal Hosein’s impressive return, with six wickets in two matches. Sammy accepted Bangladesh’s right to use home advantage but emphasised his team’s need for greater skill and discipline.
