Harrison and Skupski Claim Maiden Australian Open Men’s Doubles Title
World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz produced a heroic comeback to defeat Alexander Zverev in a gripping five-set Australian Open semifinal that lasted five hours and 27 minutes.
Alcaraz won 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-7(3), 6-7(4), 7-5 after battling severe cramps and momentum swings. The Spaniard dominated early but faltered physically midway, allowing Zverev back into the contest. Showing remarkable resilience, Alcaraz recovered his movement in the decider to seal one of the finest wins of his career.
The 22-year-old now advances to the final, remaining on course for a maiden Australian Open crown.
