Abhinav Bindra
Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra has been named one of the torchbearers for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
India’s first individual Olympic gold winner in the 10m air rifle event (Beijing 2008), Bindra expressed gratitude for the honour, calling it a reminder of sport’s power to inspire unity and perseverance.
The Olympic Torch Relay, a hallmark tradition symbolising global friendship and excellence, will see Bindra join other distinguished athletes as the flame travels across Italy ahead of the Games, scheduled from February 6 to 22, 2026.
