India captain Shreyas Iyer admitted his side fell short in execution after England sealed the five-match T20I series with a dominant nine-wicket victory in Bristol.
India posted just 158/7 despite Iyer’s fighting 80 off 49 balls, before Harry Brook and Phil Salt shared an unbeaten 151-run partnership to chase down the target with 37 balls to spare. Iyer said his bowlers failed to execute their plans consistently and acknowledged the total was below par. The skipper also described the current Indian team as being in a transition phase, urging youngsters to learn quickly from overseas conditions.
The defeat handed England their first-ever bilateral T20I series victory over India in a contest featuring two or more matches.
