Zhang Shuai, Katerina Siniakova Win Canadian Open Doubles Title

Top seeds Zhang Shuai of China and Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic won the Canadian Open women’s doubles title, defeating third seeds Sara Errani and Nicole Melichar-Martinez 6-3, 6-4 in the final.

They became the first team since Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina in 2017 to win the title without dropping a set. Zhang and Siniakova beat Grand Slam champions or major winners throughout their campaign, dropping just 28 games across five rounds. The victory marked their third title as a team and their first at WTA 1000 level. Zhang claimed her fourth doubles trophy of the year and 19th career title, while Siniakova secured her fourth WTA 1000 crown of the season.

The pair remain unbeaten in three finals together.
