Zaheer Khan Jaffna Kings
Former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan has become co-owner of Lanka Premier League franchise Jaffna Kings after Stockholm-based Anchor Sports AB completed the acquisition of the four-time champions.
The franchise has been rebranded as Anchor Jaffna Kings, with Zaheer joining Anchor Sports owner Nagendra Siddoutam in leading the team. Jaffna Kings remain one of the most successful sides in LPL history, winning four titles in five completed seasons. Zaheer said he is excited to contribute to Sri Lankan cricket and praised the country’s rich bowling tradition.
The acquisition strengthens Anchor Sports’ growing global cricket portfolio, which already includes franchises in the European T20 Premier League and Canada’s Super 60 League, while highlighting the LPL’s increasing international appeal.
