Greaves’ Epic 202 Helps West Indies Pull Off Valiant Draw in Christchurch

Justin Greaves’ unbeaten 202 and Kemar Roach’s gritty 58* powered the West Indies to a remarkable draw in the first Test against New Zealand in Christchurch.

Chasing a massive 531, the visitors finished on 457-6, the second-highest fourth-innings total in Test history. Greaves batted nearly 10 hours and faced 388 balls, adding a crucial 180-run stand with Roach for the seventh wicket. Earlier, Shai Hope contributed a valuable 140. With key New Zealand pacers injured and the pitch offering little help, West Indies survived multiple scares to secure a hard-fought result.

The second Test begins Wednesday in Wellington.
