Defending 151, West Indies were under pressure after a strong opening stand from Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. The game turned dramatically in the 19th over when Shamar Springer claimed a sensational hat-trick, removing Gurbaz, Rashid Khan and Shahidullah. Ramon Simmonds then held his nerve in the final over as Afghanistan finished on 136 for 8.
