VVS Laxman on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
India’s interim head coach VVS Laxman heaped praise on teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after the 15-year-old starred in India’s 3-0 T20I series sweep over Zimbabwe.
Sooryavanshi, who was named Player of the Series, scored a mature 81 off 49 balls in the third T20I on a challenging pitch after smashing a rapid half-century in the series opener. Laxman said the youngster’s willingness to learn, calm temperament and ability to handle pressure make him a special talent capable of breaking records in international cricket.
He also credited Sooryavanshi’s IPL experience and development at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, while stressing that improving overall fitness remains the next important step in his remarkable cricketing journey.
