India Brace for Pakistan Clash After Colombo U-Turn
Sri Lanka on Monday dropped Test captain Dhananjaya de Silva from their 15-man T20 World Cup squad led by Dasun Shanaka. De Silva, recalled after an 18-month gap, managed just 43 runs and one wicket in three innings.
He was dropped from the second T20 against England after struggling in the opening match. Despite injury concerns, seam bowler Eshan Malinga was included. Sri Lanka, co-hosting the tournament with India, begin their campaign against Ireland in Colombo.
They are grouped with Australia, Oman and Zimbabwe, with the top two advancing to the Super 8 stage.
