South Korea Beat Czechia 3-1
South Korea began their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign in style, coming from behind to defeat Czechia 3-1 at Guadalajara Stadium on Friday. Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, South Korea fell behind in the 59th minute when Czech captain Ladislav Krejci scored with a powerful header.
However, Hwang In-beom restored parity eight minutes later with a superb finish after a brilliant pass from Lee Kang-in. Oh Hyeon-gyu then completed the comeback in the 80th minute before Son Heung-min sealed the victory with a late goal.
Head coach Hong Myungbo praised his team’s resilience and said the focus now shifts to their crucial upcoming clash against Mexico.
