Shubman Gill rues missed opportunity as Gujarat Titans fall short in IPL 2026 final
Shubman Gill admitted that Gujarat Titans failed to post a competitive total in the IPL 2026 final after suffering a five-wicket defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Gill felt a score between 180 and 190 would have made the contest much closer. Gujarat lost early wickets and struggled to build momentum, eventually posting 155/8 despite an unbeaten fifty from Washington Sundar. RCB’s pace attack, led by Rasikh Salam Dar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, kept the pressure on throughout.
Chasing 156, Virat Kohli anchored the innings with an unbeaten 75 to guide RCB to a successful title defence.
