Shreyas Iyer’s maiden IPL ton keeps Punjab Kings’ playoff hopes alive
Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer credited a fun dressing-room six-hitting challenge for inspiring his team’s explosive batting display against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026.
PBKS piled up a season-high 254/7, powered by a stunning 182-run stand between Priyansh Arya (93) and Cooper Connolly (87). Iyer revealed he had challenged the duo to compete for most sixes, offering his bat as the prize.
The bowlers then backed the effort, restricting LSG to 200/5 for a 54-run win. Iyer also praised his experienced bowling unit for executing plans effectively to maintain PBKS’ dominance this season.
