Shreyas Iyer admitted poor bowling and fielding cost Punjab Kings dearly after their record defeat to Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala.

PBKS posted a strong 210/5, powered by Priyansh Arya’s 56 and late fireworks from Suryansh Shedge, but failed to defend the target as DC completed the highest successful chase in IPL history. Iyer felt the total was “30 runs above par” on a pitch offering seam movement and uneven bounce.

However, DC recovered brilliantly from 38/3 through captain Axar Patel, David Miller and debutant Madhav Tiwari. “Fielding and bowling again,” Iyer said while reflecting on PBKS’ costly execution errors in the tense finish.
