Scotland opened their Group C account in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 with a commanding 73-run win over debutants Italy at Eden Gardens.
Batting first, Scotland posted a tournament-record 207/4, powered by George Munsey’s 84 and a strong opening stand with Michael Jones. Brandon McMullen and Michael Leask added late momentum. In reply, Italy were bowled out for 134, despite fighting half-centuries from Ben Manenti and Harry Manenti.
Michael Leask starred with the ball, claiming 4/17, as Scotland completed a comprehensive victory and underlined their dominance.
