Sarfaraz Khan Replaces Injured Sai Sudharsan in India’s Test Squad for Sri Lanka Series
India have named right-handed batter Sarfaraz Khan as Sai Sudharsan’s replacement for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
The BCCI confirmed that Sudharsan has been ruled out after suffering a right toe stress reaction. The left-handed batter has been recovering at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, with the medical team continuing to monitor his progress. Sarfaraz will join the Indian squad in Colombo before travelling to Galle for the opening Test, scheduled to begin on August 15.
The 28-year-old has played six Tests for India, scoring 371 runs at an average of 37.1, including a career-best 150. Sarfaraz was part of India’s squad for the 2024/25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy but did not play.
