Sarfaraz Ahmed Announces Retirement from International Cricket

Pakistan national cricket team pick four uncapped players; Sarfaraz Ahmed named head coach

Sarfaraz Ahmed announced his retirement from international cricket on Sunday, ending a career spanning nearly two decades with Pakistan cricket team.

The wicketkeeper-batter played 54 Tests, 117 ODIs and 61 T20Is, scoring 6,164 runs with six centuries. Sarfaraz’s most memorable moment came when he led Pakistan to victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final against India at The Oval. He also captained Pakistan to 11 consecutive T20I series wins and once helped the side reach the No.1 ranking.

Sarfaraz later served as mentor and manager for Pakistan Shaheens and the under-19 teams.
