Ruturaj Gaikwad Says CSK Are In Transition After Playoff Exit Against GT
Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad praised his team’s effort despite a five-wicket loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
The defeat dented CSK’s playoff hopes, while SRH sealed qualification for the playoffs. Gaikwad said CSK stayed competitive until the final overs and credited the squad for fighting despite injuries and limited resources. Dewald Brevis top-scored with 44, while Sanju Samson made a quick 27 as CSK posted 180/7. However, Ishan Kishan’s superb 70 and Heinrich Klaasen’s aggressive 47 guided SRH to victory with six balls remaining.
Gaikwad also highlighted positives from the campaign and appreciated the support from Chennai fans throughout the tournament despite the disappointing result.
