Pretoria Capitals Register First SA20 Season 4 Win on New Year’s Eve

Pretoria Capitals opened their SA20 Season 4 account with a dominant 85-run bonus-point win over MI Cape Town at Newlands on New Year’s Eve.

Sherfane Rutherford starred with a blistering 47 not out off 15 balls and career-best bowling figures of 4/24, earning Player of the Match. He combined with Dewald Brevis for an explosive 86-run stand that lifted Capitals to 220/5 after early setbacks. MI Cape Town’s chase faltered despite a brisk Powerplay, as Keshav Maharaj’s three-wicket spell dismantled the middle order. The victory lifted Capitals alongside Paarl Royals as first-time winners this season.
