Shreyas Iyer’s maiden IPL ton keeps Punjab Kings’ playoff hopes alive
Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer has been fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during their IPL 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans at New Chandigarh. The penalty was imposed under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, marking PBKS’ first offence of the season.
Despite this setback, Punjab Kings registered a thrilling three-wicket win while chasing 163 runs. Debutant Cooper Connolly starred with an unbeaten 72, supported by Prabhsimran Singh’s 37. PBKS will next face Chennai Super Kings.
