Pathum Nissanka’s Historic Century Powers Sri Lanka Into Super 8s

Pathum Nissanka etched his name in history with a stunning unbeaten 100 as Sri Lanka national cricket team crushed Australia national cricket team by eight wickets at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Chasing 182, Nissanka’s 52-ball ton anchored Sri Lanka’s highest T20 World Cup chase and secured a Super 8s berth. Earlier, Travis Head (56) and Mitchell Marsh (54) powered Australia to 181.

However, Sri Lankan spinners, led by Dushan Hemantha (3/37), triggered a collapse before Nissanka’s brilliance sealed a historic victory for the co-hosts.
