Pat Cummins to Continue as Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain In IPL 2026
Australia’s Pat Cummins will captain Sunrisers Hyderabad for a third straight IPL season, with the franchise confirming his role via a post on its official ‘X’ handle.
Currently recovering from a back injury that rules him out of the first Ashes Test, Cummins is expected to return for the second Test in Brisbane. SRH’s continued faith highlights his importance since taking over in 2024 after a ₹20.50 crore signing. Known for leading Australia to major titles, Cummins remains central to SRH’s plans.
The franchise has also traded Mohammed Shami and released Adam Zampa and Rahul Chahar after a disappointing 2025 season.
