Neymar Returns To Brazil Squad For FIFA World Cup After Two-And-A-Half-Year Absence

Brazil star Neymar has returned to the national squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup after more than two-and-a-half years away from international football.

Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti included the Santos forward in the 26-man squad despite concerns over his fitness and recent injury struggles. Neymar last played for Brazil in October 2023 before suffering a serious ACL injury against Uruguay. The 34-year-old remains Brazil’s all-time leading scorer with 79 goals in 128 matches. Ancelotti said Neymar’s experience and leadership could prove vital during the tournament.

Brazil will begin their World Cup campaign against Morocco before facing Haiti and Scotland in Group C next month in the United States.
