Mark Chapman, Mitchell Santner Steer New Zealand to Thrilling One-Wicket Win Over West Indies

Mark Chapman starred with 80 while captain Mitchell Santner held his nerve with an unbeaten 34 as New Zealand edged West Indies by one wicket in the fourth ODI to take an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.

Chasing 189, New Zealand stumbled early before Chapman and Michael Bracewell rebuilt the innings. However, Gudakesh Motie’s brilliant five-wicket haul sparked a dramatic collapse, leaving the visitors needing eight runs with one wicket remaining. Santner guided the tail calmly and struck the winning run with 35 balls to spare. Earlier, West Indies recovered from 81/6 through Amir Jangoo’s 51 and Motie’s 41 to post 188. Matthew Fisher impressed with 3/40 to claim his maiden ODI wickets.

The last match of the series will be played at Bridgetown on Tuesday.
