Morocco Beat Canada 3-0 to Reach FIFA World Cup 2026 Quarter-finals
Morocco produced a clinical second-half performance to defeat co-hosts Canada 3-0 in Houston and secure a place in the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-finals.
Azzedine Ounahi starred with a brilliant brace after opening the scoring early in the second half from Achraf Hakimi’s clever free-kick. Soufiane Rahimi added a stoppage-time goal to complete the emphatic victory. Canada dominated the opening stages and created several chances, but goalkeeper Yassine Bounou made crucial saves to keep the scores level before Morocco took complete control.
The defeat made Canada the first host nation eliminated from the 2026 World Cup, while Morocco advanced to face either Paraguay or France in the quarter-finals.
