Mohammad Abbas Takes Five as Pakistan Fight Back Against Bangladesh in First Test
Mohammad Abbas starred with a five-wicket haul as Pakistan fought back strongly against Bangladesh on day two of the first Test in Dhaka.
Abbas claimed 5/92 to bowl Bangladesh out for 413 after overnight batter Mushfiqur Rahim scored 71 and celebrated his 39th birthday with a milestone record. The Pakistan seamer was the standout performer, claiming three wickets in the morning session and two more after lunch to finish with figures of 5/92 from 34 overs — the sixth five-wicket haul of his career.
In reply, debutants Azan Awais (85*) and Abdullah Fazal (37*) guided Pakistan to 179/1 at stumps after Imam-ul-Haq scored 45, reducing the deficit to 234 runs.
