Mehidy Hasan Dismisses Steve Smith as Bangladesh Eye Historic Win Against Australia

Mehidy Hasan Miraz dismissed Steve Smith for 44 as Bangladesh moved closer to a historic Test victory over Australia in Darwin.

Australia reached 161-4 at stumps on day three, still trailing Bangladesh by 67 runs. Cameron Green was unbeaten on 43 with Alex Carey on 19. Earlier, Bangladesh were dismissed for 426, securing a first-innings lead of 228 after bowling Australia out for 198. Hasan Mahmud then struck twice, removing openers Jake Weatherald and Travis Head cheaply. Marnus Labuschagne was bowled by Taijul Islam for 31 before Mehidy produced the key breakthrough of Smith.

Mehidy had earlier scored a valuable 65 for Bangladesh. Josh Hazlewood claimed 6-89 and reached 300 Test wickets. Bangladesh are seeking their first Test win in Australia.
