Johan Manzambi Scores Historic Brace in Switzerland's 4-1 World Cup Victory
Johan Manzambi announced himself on the FIFA World Cup stage with a sensational two-goal performance as Switzerland defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1.
Introduced in the 72nd minute, the 20-year-old midfielder scored twice, including a spectacular volley, to earn Superior Player of the Match honours. Manzambi became the youngest Swiss player to score in a World Cup since 1950 and the youngest Swiss footballer to net a brace at the tournament.
Delighted with his achievement, he admitted he would struggle to sleep after scoring his first career brace on football’s biggest stage. Swiss coach Murat Yakin praised Manzambi’s creativity, dribbling ability and attacking freedom.
