Jessica Pegula Reaches US Open Semifinals for Third Straight Year
No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula fought back from a set down to defeat No. 26 seed Emma Navarro 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in 2 hours and 21 minutes at Arthur Ashe Stadium, reaching the US Open semifinals for the third consecutive year. The victory marks Pegula’s fourth Grand Slam semifinal appearance after she also reached the last four at the Australian Open earlier this year.
The 2024 US Open runner-up now has 90 three-set victories and 48 comeback wins since the start of the decade, both the most on the WTA Tour.
Pegula will face top seed and two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals. Sabalenka edged Linda Noskova 7-6(1), 3-6, 7-6(7) in a thrilling quarterfinal.
Pegula has a 4-9 record against Sabalenka and lost their last two meetings at the US Open, including last year’s semifinal. The American has enjoyed an impressive 2026 season, winning titles in Dubai and Charleston and reaching three additional finals.
