Rodrigues Stars as India Clinch Eight-Wicket Win in T20I Opener

Jemimah Rodrigues carried her stunning World Cup form into the T20I arena, smashing an unbeaten 69 off 44 balls to power India Women to an emphatic eight-wicket win over Sri Lanka in Visakhapatnam.

Chasing 122, Jemimah anchored the innings with fluent stroke play, adding key partnerships with Smriti Mandhana (25) and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (15*). Earlier, disciplined spells from Deepti Sharma, Kranti Gaud and N Shree Charani restricted Sri Lanka to 121/6 despite Vishmi Gunaratne’s fighting 39.

India overcame early nerves and dew challenges to seal victory with 32 balls remaining and take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
