Jadeja’s 4-29 Puts India on Top as South Africa Collapse on Dramatic Day Two

Ravindra Jadeja’s incisive spell (4-29) left South Africa reeling at 93/7 at stumps on Day Two of the first Test at Eden Gardens, despite holding a 63-run lead. On a two-paced pitch offering sharp turn and uneven bounce, 16 wickets fell on the day.

Earlier, Simon Harmer’s 4-30 and Marco Jansen’s 3-35 bowled India out for 189, with KL Rahul top-scoring with 39. South Africa’s batting then crumbled under pressure and poor shot selection, with only Temba Bavuma resisting on 29*.

With the match finely balanced, even a chase of around 125 could be challenging on this tricky surface.
