Josh Inglis smashed a six to seal Perth Scorchers’ crushing six-wicket win over Sydney Sixers and claim a record sixth Big Bash League title at Optus Stadium.
Chasing 132, the Scorchers cruised home with 15 balls to spare in front of a record 55,018 fans. Mitch Marsh top-scored with 44, while David Payne starred with the ball, claiming 3/18 to earn Player of the Match honours.
The Sixers struggled after being sent in, managing only 132 all out despite starts from their senior batters. Perth’s dominance in the final underlined their status as the most successful team in BBL history.
