Indian Boxers Dominate, Women Assure Medals at Asian Championships

India continued its impressive run at the Asian Boxing Championships 2026 as Meenakshi and Jaismine secured dominant semifinal berths with unanimous wins.

Meenakshi outclassed Japan’s Yuka Sadamatsu in the 48kg category, while Jaismine defeated China’s Ziyi Chen in the 57kg division, ensuring medals for all Indian women boxers in contention. In the men’s section, Lokesh, Akash, and Harsh Choudhary advanced with convincing victories, taking India’s tally to six semifinalists. The strong performances highlight India’s depth and consistency across categories.

However, Ankush bowed out after a loss, marking a minor setback in an otherwise dominant campaign for the Indian contingent.
