India Women Held to 2-2 Draw by Scotland in Hockey World Cup Qualifiers
The India women’s hockey team played out a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Scotland in their Pool B clash of the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers in Hyderabad.
Scotland took an early lead through Heather McEwan before Navneet Kaur equalised in the 18th minute. India moved ahead just before halftime when Sunelita Toppo scored from a rebound after a penalty corner scramble.
However, Scotland levelled the match in the third quarter through Fiona Burnet. Despite several penalty corners and attacking opportunities, India could not find the winner. With the draw, both teams have four points, though India remain top of the group on goal difference.
