India Beat Australia 3-1 in Shootout to End Hobart Leg on High
India concluded their Hobart leg of the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025-26 with a thrilling 3-1 shootout win over Australia after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Captain Jeremy Hayward (49’) gave Australia the lead from a penalty corner before Shilanand Lakra (51’) equalised swiftly for India. Goalkeeper Mohith Honnenahalli Shashikumar was outstanding throughout, making crucial saves in open play and during the shootout.
Lakra, Maninder Singh and Vishnukant Singh converted their chances in the shootout, while Mohith denied three Australian attempts. The victory earned India a valuable bonus point and ended their Hobart campaign on a confident note.
