ICC Unveils New ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup Formats with Super 7, Super 10
The ICC, along with the PCB and BCB, concluded constructive talks addressing Bangladesh’s absence from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and the future of cricket in South Asia.
The ICC reaffirmed Bangladesh’s status as a valued Full Member, confirming that no financial, sporting or administrative penalty will be imposed on the BCB. It was also agreed that Bangladesh will host an ICC event between 2028 and 2031, subject to standard procedures.
ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta stressed that Bangladesh remains a priority cricketing nation, with over 200 million fans, and reiterated the governing body’s long-term commitment to the country’s cricketing growth and global integration.
