Vishvanath Suresh Wins Gold as India Shine at Asian Boxing Championships
The Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) has been granted full membership of the International Boxing Association (IBA), marking a major milestone for Indian boxing.
The decision was taken at the IBA Board Meeting on February 6, 2026, and formally communicated on February 9. IBA president Umar Kremlev praised IABF’s transparent governance and commitment to international standards. With full membership, IABF is now eligible to participate in IBA-sanctioned global events, offering Indian boxers greater international exposure.
IABF officials termed the recognition a golden opportunity to strengthen grassroots development and prepare athletes for future Olympic challenges.
