Harjinder Kaur Wins Silver in Women's 69kg Weightlifting
India’s Harjinder Kaur secured the silver medal in the women’s 69kg weightlifting event at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, continuing the country’s impressive run in the sport.
Harjinder recorded a total lift of 227kg, comprising 101kg in the snatch and 126kg in the clean and jerk. Canada’s Charlotte Simoneau clinched the gold medal with a total of 240kg, while Australia’s Nya Phebe Hayman took bronze with 218kg. Harjinder sealed second place with a successful final clean and jerk attempt, adding another medal to India’s growing tally.
Her silver became India’s seventh medal in weightlifting at the Games, underlining the nation’s consistent dominance in one of its strongest Commonwealth disciplines.
